Day 11 Denali- the dreaded wall..

Finally we get a break in the weather and we head for the big wall. Late start as we prefer for someone else to create the track through the fresh powder. It’s a long slog first slow and hot behind some Russian, then cold and windy on the fix ropes. We cache our food at 16000 feet on the ridge which was extremely windy. And then we come back to camp. Duration of the trip 6 hours. With a bit of luck tomorrow we move to the 17000 feet camp. Then it’s summit any day. One day at the time....
